Welcome to the Old Swan Inn - Pembrokeshire Holiday Cottage
Delightful 18th century former tavern and farmhouse nestled between the Mountains & the sea. The cottage is located on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in the hamlet of Whitechurch also known as Eglwyswen. It sits in five organic acres with wild meadow walks, orchard and large lawn; one acre is fenced, perfect for dogs. There's plenty of off road parking.
Walker, cyclist, child, pet and eco-friendly, the cottage location makes it an ideal centre for touring, walking, cycling, mountain biking, motorcycling, watersports, golfing, fishing and exploring the beautiful award winning coastal path. Perfect if you enjoy waking up to the sound of bird song, watching fabulous sunrises and sunsets, and star-gazing in Pembrokeshire dark skys.
Some say 'Ah but it always rains in Wales'. Pembrokeshire gets half the rain Snowdonia or the Lake District, and because the cottage is close to the coast and sheltered by the Preseli Hills, we often miss the rain.
There are over 50 beaches in Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay, most are dog friendly year round and many local cafe's and pubs will welcome your pet.
Recently renovated there are two bedrooms upstairs – one superking bed that can be converted into twin singles and one king size bed. Both bedrooms have feather bedding (mircodown available), deep comfy window seats and flat screen TV/DVDs. There is a large stylish bathroom with rolltop bath and thermostatic rain shower over.
Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room with woodburner, flat screen TV/DVD. Radio & I-pod dock. The dining room seats up to six and there is a bespoke fitted kitchen. Free unlimited wifi throughout.
Outside the private gardens include 5 organic acres with large lawn, orchard, meadow walks, and small front garden with white picket fence. There's garden furniture, loungers, gas BBQ & firepits all with fabulous views of the mountains & meadows.
We aim to be eco-friendly wherever possible and have used natural, organic, low allergy or recycled materials in the cottage and grounds. We aim to use local, Welsh or UK goods and services. We have recycling and composting facilities and, to offset guests visits we are planting trees, shrubs & more wild flowers in the grounds.
We live in the cottage next door, so are often on hand if you need us, or want to ask us the best places to visit whilst you're here, otherwise we leave guests in peace to enjoy their holiday at their own pace. Regards, Saran & Richard
